Electrophysiology - Catheter Ablation- Pacing and Device Implantation

In addition to medical management, catheter ablation is recently a well established procedure to cure most types of arrhythmia, especially reentry-derived cardiac acrrhythmia.

Catheter ablation is an effective means to terminate the arrhythmia performed by placing a small -caliber catheter in to the vein of the groin area. This vein is connected to the right-heart chamber allowing the catheter  to place into the right atrium, right ventricle, and targetd electrical tissues. The catheter is equipped with mapping and ablating capability to detect and treat the abnormal electricity. The catheter ablation changes the property of electrical conduction in the heart tissue rendering termination of arrhythmia.

Cardiac center at KCMH has an excellent electrophysiological experience of:

  • Catheter ablation of PSVT, WPW
  • Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation
  • Pacemaker, AICD, CRT implantation
