Sunday, 25 December 2011 15:34

ABI is an index to evaluate stenosis and occlusion of crural arteries. It is calculated from blood pressures obtained from your arm and ankles.  ABI is useful for early detection of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD is frequently complicated in patients with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease, and thus early detection of PAD is important.

To perform ABI, you will be placed on a comfortable bed. Pressure cuffs over 4 extremities and one phono-probe on your chest will be achieved to assess your pulse and blood pressure .

Appointment : Noninvasive Cardiovascular laboratory
