Chulalongkorn’s heart failure (C-HF) course will provide an update management in heart failure, highlighting clinical pearls and pitfalls, introduction new medical therapy in heart failure, case study, comprehensive review of evidence-based benefits and roles of wide spectrum of heart failure topics, and emphasizing options for ventricular assist device and heart transplant under the theme of “Managing Heart Failure 2016”. A case study will discuss common problem in coronary artery disease and left ventricular dysfunction.

Chulalongkorn’s heart failure (C-HF) scientific meeting will be held in the morning, in Thai, with the continuum of the joint cardiology session of the 4th Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program (PMA-YP) Conference 2016, in English, hosted by Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, in the afternoon.

The Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program (PMAYP) has main objectives of inspiring the young physicians to devote their lives to promote health of the mankind, as well as to create young health scientists with the cooperation between the Foundation and the Thai and overseas medical/health institutions. With this fact, the organizing committee of the PMAYP Conference is planning to organize this meeting for providing participants an opportunity to participate and exchange your knowledge experiences with PMAYP scholars and their mentors from Thailand and the United States. Last year, Veraprapas Kittipibul, MD, a cum laude graduate of Chulalongkorn University, one of 5 scholars, studied in the field of heart failure and transplant at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. His US. mentor is Dr. Randall Starling, Head of the Section of Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Medicine, the Medical Director of the Kaufman Center for Heart Failure and a Staff Cardiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. His Thai mentor is Dr. Sarinya Puwanant, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University.

Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program Mentor Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Randall Starling on January 27th, 2016. This will be followed by case-based learning in heart failure. We are honored to have Dr. Randall Starling as a distinguished discussant, along with Thai leaders/cardiologists in the field of advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. The meeting/conference will be held at Mongkolnavin Hall (ห้องมงคลนาวิน), Sor-kor building, 10th Floor, (ตึก สก ชั้น 10), King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
